Saleenya is a Rockin' Americana Trio made up of 3 singer-songwriters who live in Nashville, Tennessee. Friends for nearly 8 years, Sandy Moyer (SA), Kat’Lee Jones (LEE) and Tonya Noga (NYA) had performed at many Writers Nights together, and their voices and styles complemented each other so well that "what's the name of your band?" became a common question. So they decided to become one, Saleenya, a combination of their first names. Their off-stage friendship and sisterhood shows through when they perform, telling stories and laughing with each other through on-stage antics, making them also fun to watch. Since they are all songwriters, they share the spotlight as lead singer, and accompany one another on vocals, guitar, Djembe and shaker with styles ranging from rock to pop to country, fitting the all-inclusive Americana genre. Their harmonies are tight and their lyrics are powerful and uplifting and thoughtful, sometimes funny, and their energy is palpable as they rock out or lay back with 3 acoustic guitars. Adding in a mix of cover tunes to their originals has allowed them to easily play 3-hour sets.
Individually, each of them has released an EP or Album and has had extensive side projects and accomplishments.
Tonya moved to Nashville from Springfield, Illinois in 1992. Her roots are firmly planted in mainstream rock inspired by Joan Jett, Melissa Etheridge and Janis Joplin. In 2012 she won "Voters Choice" during the RedNeck Showdown in Nashville, placing 3rd in the finals. She performed at the Music City Motorcycle Show in 2012, the Nashville Songwriters Festival in 2012 and 2013, and the LGBT Festival in 2012. She released her first 5-song EP Awakening in 2014. Her song Everyday was included in the 2016 TSAI Cares CD, a compilation of songs written by members of the Tennessee Songwriters Association International, a fundraiser to raise money for individuals with special needs. Her song Hitch A Ride, co-written with Lucy Rivera, was also featured on the 2017 TSAI Demos Vol 1 & 2 CD.
Kat is a singer-songwriter from Gent, Belgium. In 1990, she was the lead singer with punk band Purge, and in 1997 sang backing vocals for punk band Red Zebra. From 1997-2006 she sang with Mrs. Nice Guy, Angel Eyes and Irresistible. In 2007 she had the honor of singing backing vocals for Joe Cocker and the Laatste Show Band. She also performed regularly with Bruno Deneckere in the Ancienne Belgique in Brussels. In 2008, she was invited to perform in Nashville for the Country Music Association’s Global Artist Night, the official kick-off to the annual CMA Music Fest. She moved to Nashville in 2009, and in 2015 released her first full album My True Colors. She received the 2017 TSAI "Horizon Award" as a songwriter who had shown the most improvement and promise throughout the year. Saleenya performed her song I Don’t Need Much at the TSAI Annual Awards Show in April 2018. The song was also featured on the 2017 TSAI Demos Vol 1 & 2 CD. Kat proudly became a U.S. citizen in 2018.

Sandy began her musical journey as a child singing with her siblings as "The Moyer Family" in Pennsylvania. Her inherent ear for harmony was later developed even further by vocal training with Sweet Adelines International, an organization promoting women's a cappella, 4-part harmony in barbershop style. She moved to Nashville in 2009, and in 2013 became Kat's backing vocalist shortly after meeting her. Sandy began writing and performing her own music, and released her first 6-song EP Suddenly in 2017 featuring Kat on backing vocals. Saleenya performed their song Don’t You Ever Stop, co-written with Kat, at the 2017 TSAI Annual Awards Show held in April 2018. The song was also nominated for TSAI Recording of the Year and was featured on the 2017 TSAI Demos Vol 1 & 2 CD. Sandy's vocals have been featured on songs by recording artists Kat’Lee Jones, Lori Grigsby, Jamie Wayz, Doug Alan Wilcox and Georgie Jessup.
Prior to forming Saleenya, Kat and Sandy played the 1st Annual Northern VA Pride Festival in Centreville, VA in 2014, where they also opened the event by singing the National Anthem. They have also toured together twice in and around Kat's hometown of Gent, Belgium for shows at Cafe de Loge, Den Bascuul and Tjaplin, including a sold-out show at the Bij de Vieze Gasten.
Saleenya gave their first full-band performance together in Oct 2017 at an outdoor concert at the Farm at Route 8 Shady Lane in Murfreesboro, Tennessee presented by TSAI and backed by the TSAI band with Mark Thomas on lead guitar, Jody Crump on bass, Brett Sandler on keyboard, and Billy Mason on drums (former drummer for Tim McGraw). In Nov 2018 they were featured artists on the WFMC Jams Internet Radio “Midnight Madness Show” broadcast worldwide, and their live performances have been broadcasted on Southern Country Radio and WSM650 AM in Nashville.
Thank you for listening to our music and for giving us a reason to do what we do. We appreciate you!

"Nashville-based trio Saleenya will entertain you with rockin', powerful, original Americana music."
